I think I have a "love affair" with photography.
Since the end of the 80's that I traveled through Portugal from all over the country with my Canon EOS 650. A country very different from today.
Now, in the midst of digital and global age, photography has become much more popular and has gained another dimension, but remains a motivating adventure now somehow easier to explore. It has also become an extraordinary opportunity to communicate and express in a way that reveals the "artist" who lives in each of us.
I love my country, but my proximity to one of the most beautiful city in the world, Porto, world heritage site and for 3 times elected the the best destiny to travel in europe, inspires me very especially and has given me the opportunity to portray it with outstanding photographers from all over the world like Trey Ratcliff, Cradoc Bagshaw, Ralph Velasco e John Stanmeyer.
Come with me explore this fascinating and inspiring city
"I had the distinct pleasure of visiting Jose in his hometown of Porto. He knows his town inside and out, and, even better, he knows it as a photographer. He sees and knows things that other people don't, and I can't wait to go back!" Trey Ratcliff

"Having working and know José, his passion and love for storytelling, his workshops are not to be missed, expanding each photographer in purposeful ways." John Stanmeyer

"I've worked with José Manuel over the past year or so and have photographed with him in Portugal, and in and around Porto, specifically. I was very impressed with how he was able to get me in to meet and provide once-in-a-lifetime cultural interactions with the locals, ones I'd never have been able to create on my own. If you're looking for a person with local knowledge, someone who can put you in the right place at the right time, with the right contacts and cultural knowledge, then José Manuel is the right choice for you."
